The first part of the data entry...

(Originally posted on 21 March 2012)

Okay... so when people have desk jobs and they say they hate the job... I know why! Over the past couple weeks I decided to input Agent Data into an Excel file to be able to use for Mail Merge and easily send letters, create labels, etc. etc. (Which, p.s., just made be think of The King and I, etc. etc.)
Anyway... let me tell you this was the most obnoxious thing I might have ever done. Yes, it was easy as can be, but after about twenty entries you want to do something else, but then you think, goodness I still have 200 more to input... I better just keep going. Then when you get done with Germany, you have Austria, Switzerland (which thankfully these two countries have hardly any to input), but then you decide, I am doing it, I should just go ahead and do Italy, and Scandinavia, and then, for the hell of it I guess I should just do Great Britain too! Yeah, that was how I thought about it, and so now it's all done! And since I can't stand the thought of anyone else having to do this ridiculous inputting... I've put them on here for you all to benefit from! WARNING!!! WARNING!!! I have these addresses out of several sources and I don't know if they are all as current as the sources say, but heck, if we are sending a mass mailing and we loose $1.50 because of a wrong address... I bet we can deal with it. Just telling you in advance. And you can always do your own checking, which is always a good idea in my book ;-)

So... that is where I'm at with that!

The Following are being shared from an iCloud platform. If you can't get them and would rather email me... I will gladly send the files to you that way... just ask and you shall receive!

Well, that was fun, now wasn't it?!

While I'm here and updating... remember when I told you about some books to read... well, I am almost through Aria Ready and let me tell you... YOU HAVE TO OWN THIS BOOK!!! BUY IT, BUY IT, BUY IT NOW!!!! It is such a wealth of knowledge and organized in a way that is completely understandable for singers of all levels. If you are already established and think you have your "you know what" together, still buy it, because there are so many insightful passages within, and the sidebars are worth the price of the book and then some! I can't stress it enough... Buy this book! And besides, many of us are planning to be voice teachers at some point in our lives and Ms. Kirkpatrick has made this book so accessible for teachers as well, it's information you want to instill in your students from Day 1! That's my ranting about it, just buy it already!

Then... I have to mention a new book I purchased and read in a couple hours... it's that easy to read, and has a great wealth of knowledge as well. It's called So you Wanna Sing in Germany by Paul Bellantoni. It's really a fun read, and worth your time and few dollars to get it. There is also a Kloiber Fach Listing in the back, which is a great resource to have... it's the way Germany Houses hire! And, you should really know what roles are listed in your Fach... you might be surprised, especially if you are a soprano! I'm not kidding, you'll just have to check it out.
